Formed in 2019, Adopt South is the partnership Regional Adoption Agency for Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Portsmouth, and Southampton councils. They have consistently led the way in modernising adoption, achieving faster approval times for adopters than any other agency in England and Wales. At the heart of their mission is a commitment to finding the best families for children in a timely manner while providing deep compassion and lifelong support to adoptive families.

Support at every stage

Adopt South understands that adoption is not just a process, but a lifelong journey. Their dedicated teams provide a seamless transition of care:

• Stage 2 Assessment and Support Team (Pre-order): Guiding families through the initial assessment and preparation as they wait for a child to join their home.
• Adoption Support Team (Post-order): Offering a “Universal Offer” of ongoing help once an Adoption Order is in place, tailored to each family’s unique needs.

Their comprehensive adoption support includes a dedicated advice line, therapeutic parenting workshops, and access to a Multi-Disciplinary Team that includes clinical psychologists and a Specialist Senior Occupational Therapist.

What sets Adopt South apart is their proactive approach to preventing family challenges from escalating into crises.
